What: MOO is a fun, one-day, pop-up festival that celebrates creativity and community at beautiful Camp Hale on Squam Lake, Sandwich, NH.

Unique sculpture, art, photography, floral arrangements, conceptual, music, meditation, performance installations and more are scattered throughout the woods, field, and lake.

Anything is possible. Recycled materials are encouraged. Political content is discouraged. MOO is free as there are no fees to exhibit or to enjoy.

After a morning of set-up, the creators, their families, friends, and the public will enjoy MOO from noon - 3pm. There is a wonderful sense of community while folks wander the Camp Hale campus enjoying the installations, the music and the outdoors. This year we hope to feature over 30 installations.

In prior MOOs, there was a red door in the middle of the woods, rocks with crocheted coverings, a field of vinyl records painted and shaped to look like flowers, an upright ladder in the middle of a field, participatory painting, green glass orbs floating in the lake, Parisian cafe music at a woodland dining table setting, a sculpture made that morning(!) from hundreds of sticks, photographs, art hanging from branches, and oversized, paper mache faces with leaves, moss and sticks for hair. It's wonderful to see what folks do when the only prerequisite is that you have to carry in and carry out on the same day.

MOO does not provide labels for the individual installations. While this is not an art sale, creators are welcome to provide potential clients with business cards and other info.

Who:  A gathering of creative folks of all ages and talents and lots of admirers. Amateur and professional artists, students, and the “I’m so not creative” folks have enjoyed contributing to the past four MOOs. Typically, there are 200+ admirers coming through during the afternoon.

When: October 4, 2025 (rain date - October 5).  While the creators will work on their installations offsite, the event itself is just a single day. This pop-up aspect adds to the uniqueness, excitement and fun.
